Hi, I'm Shannon.
I know all too well the feelings of not being good enough and asking why me. I remember the day that Jordan was diagnosed with Autism, 20 years ago. The day that my life changed forever. I went through years of feeling lost and confused and having no one to turn to who really understood what it was like having an autistic child. Trying to find my way and figure it out. Wondering most days how I was going to make it through another day. I wished I had other moms who really understood the challenges I was going through day in and day out. I know what you are going through because I live it every day, just like you.
Jordan is 26 now and my parenting journey has not been easy. I made really hard decisions. I learned many things along the way, unfortunately, I learned most of them the hard way, and very often, if I'm being honest, I learned them too late. All the years I questioned God, WHY ME?
Why am I having to travel this lonely road lost and confused? I spent countless hours learning and thousands and thousands of dollars on training and coaching seeking answers which ultimately transformed my life. Not Your Average Autism Mom is everything I wish that I would have had when I was raising Jordan.
Not Your Average Autism Mom is an identity. We are an incredible group of women from different walks of life raising autistic children and doing what others don’t understand.About Me
Not Your Average Autism Mom Membership
When you join us, you have access to what I believe are the most essential things that will help you navigate this journey more easily with less overwhelm and stress. There are (3) pillars that we incorporated into our membership, which you can't find in one place anywhere else.
- Emotional support for your own well-being. We have a complete coaching program, including live coaching.
- Knowledge and understanding of Special Education When your child requires additional support along their educational path, learning Special Education isn't optional, it is necessary.
- A private community on Facebook of other moms who "get it" and normalize this journey. It is the collective wisdom of these amazing women that you can learn from successes and failures. We celebrate the milestones that the outside world doesn't understand. This is our VILLAGE.
There are coaching programs and packages, there are advocacy training programs and special education courses, and there are online subscriber pages, but there was no place that combined these three things.
I searched everywhere for that place, but I couldn't find it because it didn't exist, so I built it.
Education training programs, coaching packages, and online subscriber pages all cost money and can add up financially. It was a priority for me to make what we offer affordable for most families and we did that. For me, it is about helping moms like me embrace this journey even in the most chaotic moments, because, well, the truth is, that is autism sometimes.
Our mission is that every mom raising autistic children not only wants to be Not Your Average Autism Mom but more importantly that it is available to you. For less than what you pay for a cup of coffee a day or as one of our members said, less than a pizza a week you can be Not Your Average Autism Mom.
We include everything for only $44 a month and even less if you choose the annual option.
Never leave a school meeting feeling more frustrated than when you got there again.
Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge & clarity to support positive collaboration with your child's educational team. We are experts in IEP and 504 plans specializing in autism.

The resources in the Sisterhood go beyond how to handle autism. The friendships built with other moms who have walked in your shoes. Being a resource to moms who are just starting their journey.
