Support & Coaching for Moms Raising Autistic Children
Â
You Didn't Choose This Journey — But You Can Choose How You Navigate It.
Coaching, support, and practical tools to help you think clearly, make intentional decisions, and move forward with confidence — even when life feels overwhelming. Â
When You’re Doing Everything — But Still Feel Stuck
If you’re raising an autistic child and quietly asking yourself:
-
Why can’t I think straight anymore?
-
Why do I second-guess everything?
-
Why do I feel stuck — even though I’m doing everything I can?
You’re not broken.
You’re not failing.
You’re overloaded.
Autism parenting requires constant decision-making, emotional regulation, advocacy, and vigilance — often with no real pause. Over time, that level of chronic stress clouds your thinking, erodes confidence, and makes even simple decisions feel heavy.
This isn’t a motivation problem.
It’s not a mindset flaw.
And it’s not because you’re not trying hard enough.
Clarity — not pressure — is what creates change.
That’s why I created the RESET: Stepping Out of Survival Mode Workshop — a coaching experience for moms raising autistic children who need space to slow down, settle their nervous system, and think clearly again.
If you’re curious whether this kind of support would help you right now, you can learn more here.

A Community That Supports YouÂ
The Not Your Average Autism Mom Membership is a private, supportive space for moms raising autistic children who want connection, guidance, and ongoing encouragement.
This is where you:
-
Stay supported between hard moments
-
Learn alongside moms who truly get it
-
Reinforce what you’re practicing in your life
Coaching creates clarity and direction.
Community helps you sustain it.
You Don't Need More AdviceÂ
You’re already doing everything you can.
You’re managing behaviors, school emails, therapies, appointments, meltdowns, schedules…and somewhere along the way, you lost yourself.
You feel tense all the time.
You second-guess every decision.
You lie awake replaying the day.
You’re exhausted — not just physically, but mentally.
I’m Shannon — a mom with decades of lived experience raising an autistic child, and the founder of Not Your Average Autism Mom. And what I’ve learned in my own life and working with thousands of moms is that most of us aren’t failing.
We’re overloaded.
I’m not here to give you more strategies or more “shoulds.”
The work I do is about helping you move through this life without your nervous system constantly on high alert… without your thoughts racing the second something goes wrong… without feeling like you’re the only thing holding everything together.
How to think clearly when emotions are high.
Less reactive.
Less exhausted.
More like yourself again.
So when hard moments come — and they will — you can think clearly when emotions are high instead of feeling overwhelmed.
If you want to know more about how I got here and why this matters so much to me, you can read more of my story here.

I have known Shannon personally and professionally for many years. She is not only the mom of a son on the autism spectrum, she has been an extraordinarily strong advocate for the autism community for years.
I highly recommend that if you are raising a child on the spectrum, you add NYAAM to your support team.Â
You will be so glad you did. Â
